A drug test kit for urine is the most prevalent type of drug test, except that drugs will remain undetected in the urine until after several hours. When handling urine samples there can be hazards as in possible exposure to HIV and other diseases. For example the urine sample contained blood and upon transport has an accidental splash and some of the contents hit the mouth of an individual, the content of the splash could pose a risk depending on the level of exposure.

If upon checking the urine sample and it is contaminated with blood, then it should be considered capable of transmitting various diseases. However, integrated test cups serve to help alleviate and eliminate the concerns of exposure.
